The training for someone who will recite over other people. It covers who is fit to do this at all, the fiqh a practitioner is answerable for, how to take an intake and read a case honestly, the session from wuḍū' to the close, the working sets, and what is and is not permitted when a jinn is present — including the full jinn-help debate with the scholars' fatwas set out at length. Then the difficult cases, safeguarding, and how to run a practice that does not corrupt the person running it. There is a case examination at the end.

Read a section

Two or three hundred words on one idea, with the verse or the hadith right there beside it.

Do something with it

A question, a pair to match, an order to put right. The lesson will not close until they are done.

Keep what you learn

Notes, highlights and progress travel with your account — and wait for you where you stopped.

Before you start

Isthiscourseforyou?

It is written for one kind of reader, and it is honest about who it will not help.

Yes, if…

  • You already recite over your own household and people have started asking you
  • You are training under an experienced raqi and want the fiqh and the boundaries set out properly
  • You practise already and have never been taught the red lines in one place
  • You want to be able to answer the jinn-help question from the fatwas rather than from opinion
  • You want to know what to refuse, and how to refuse it, before somebody is in front of you

Not yet, if…

  • You are looking for treatment for yourself or your family — the four free courses are for that, and they come first
  • You have never performed ruqyah on another person and have nobody experienced to sit with
  • You want techniques for gaining power over the jinn — this course argues against that at length
  • You are looking for a qualification to advertise; there is no register, and a certificate is not a licence

By the end

Whatyou'llbeabletodo.

Not a reading list — a set of things you will actually be able to do when you close the last lesson.

I know what I am permitted to do, what I must refuse, and when to send someone to somebody else.
The finish line
  1. 01Judge honestly whether you are fit to treat others, and what disqualifies a person
  2. 02State the fiqh of ruqyah — its three conditions, the ruling on fees, and where scholars differed
  3. 03Take a proper intake, and say 'this looks like' rather than 'this is'
  4. 04Run a full session in order, and know why each step is where it is
  5. 05Use the working sets — the passages, the du'ās, the recited water — and choose between them for a case
  6. 06Address a jinn within the limits, and know every question you may never ask
  7. 07Answer the jinn-help debate from Ibn Bāz, Ibn 'Uthaymīn and Ibn Taymiyyah's actual words
  8. 08Recognise the difficult cases, refer them, and safeguard the people in front of you
  9. 09Run a practice on terms that keep you honest — fees, dependence, records and refusal

The shape of it

Howit'sbrokendown.

Eleven modules and a case examination. The first two are about you and the law rather than about technique — because a practitioner who is sound on those does limited damage when his method is imperfect, and the reverse is not true.

Before you begin

Whatyou'llneedandwhatthiswillnotdo.

What you'll need

  1. 01The four free courses first — Foundations, Self-Ruqyah Properly, When It's Someone You Love, and The Unseen World
  2. 02An experienced, sharia-compliant raqi to sit with; this course is not a substitute for that
  3. 03A free account, so your progress, notes and certificate are kept
  4. 04About fourteen hours, and the honesty to fail yourself on module one if it applies

Most people take two months. Modules six and seven are the ones to read twice.

What this course does not do

  • It does not qualify or license anybody, and no register recognises any certificate in this field
  • It does not teach seeking help from the jinn — it sets out why the scholars forbade it
  • It does not replace training under an experienced practitioner, or medical and safeguarding referral
  • It teaches no forbidden treatment, and describes them only so they can be recognised and refused

Everything here teaches — nothing here treats. Medical care always comes first, and healing is by Allah's permission.
