Why the interview is here
The source explains its reason for sharing it: sihr is a hidden world, the sorcerer draws near to Shayṭān with what he loves, and the clear texts establish the disbelief of the sorcerer and of the one who goes to him. Letting people hear a sorcerer describe his own trade (from a published interview in the book al-Sihr wa al-Sahara, pp. 52–56) shows the reality of this affliction and its destructive effect on the person, the family and the community. It is published to warn, never to teach.
What the sorcerer admitted
- 1Sihr is real, and he knows it is haramAsked whether sihr exists, he answered: “Of course; Allah mentioned it in many verses.” Asked how he allows himself to practise what he knows is forbidden, he admitted a guilty conscience and constant inner conflict, and excused himself with poverty. The interviewer notes the trade has become “a refuge for every unemployed man”.
- 2His customers are the fearful and the impatientPeople come to him frightened of each other and of the future, “looking for the shortest path”: to know what is hidden, to find out who is with them and who is against them.
- 3He divides sihr into “types”“White” for love and binding couples; “red”, based on blood, for destruction; “black”, for separating spouses and ruining a person’s health, wealth and work. He claims to avoid the harmful kinds himself.
- 4Personal traces are his raw materialUndergarments, photographs, hair, and the dust of a person’s footsteps. Items are buried in remote places, which the author notes makes the buried sihr hard to find and destroy.
- 5The most dangerous form is the one that is drunkWriting dissolved into a drink, which he says can strike the nervous system, cause paralysis or loss of consciousness.
- 6Who is most affected, and who buysHe names children, women, and the ignorant. He estimates that since the mid-eighties, 60–70% of his customers have been men, including merchants and businessmen, “some of whom deny sihr publicly and practise it in secret”.
- 7Why they comeHis own diagnosis is blunt: weak, unsuccessful people who lack the patience to reach their ambitions by work, so they take what they think is a shortcut.
- 8Sorcery does not always workAsked why not, he answered: “Because there are counters to sihr — people of knowledge who undo what we make.”
- 9The devils do the work“In reality it is the devils of the jinn who carry out the sihr, and every sorcerer has a pact with Iblis.”
Reading the interview honestly
There is no such thing as “white magic”. The sorcerer’s own three-colour scheme is part of the deception. Binding two hearts by sorcery is done through the same pact with the devils as the sorcery of separation; the Quran describes those who learn “that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife” (al-Baqarah 2:102) in one breath with all of it, and it is disbelief. A love-charm is the same crime under a kinder name.
His confession that scholars “undo” his work points to the truth. The article’s author underlines it with the verse:
فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوْا۟ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ مَا جِئْتُم بِهِ ٱلسِّحْرُ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَيُبْطِلُهُۥٓ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُصْلِحُ عَمَلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
Fa-lammā alqaw qāla Mūsā mā jiʾtum bihi s-siḥr, inna Llāha sa-yubṭiluh, inna Llāha lā yuṣliḥu ʿamala l-mufsidīn
"And when they had thrown, Moses said: What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allah will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allah does not amend the work of corrupters."
Allah alone annuls sihr. Those who fight it own nothing but recourse to Allah, then ruqyah as established in the Book and the Sunnah, and lawful worldly means of treatment. That is a sorcerer conceding, from inside the trade, that his whole world stands or falls at Allah’s command.
He never claims to bring happiness. His customers come afraid and leave dependent: on him, on his fees, and on the devils he serves. The believer’s protection costs nothing: sound tawḥīd, the daily adhkār, and never opening the door to these people in the first place.
Medical first, alongside ruqyah — nothing here replaces a doctor’s care.
